“As a result of the clearly increasing trend in the past years within medieval studies to a greater openness to a more comparative history of Europe, most non-Polish historians are increasingly also interested in Poland. They, nevertheless, have the impression that they are unable to access the result of Polish research simply because Polish scholarship is mainly made in Polish. The bibliography presented here aims to be an aid by means of which mutual engagement and discussion between Polish and non-Polish Medieval scholarship may be promoted. The impetus for compiling this bibliography arose from the observation that an astonishingly large number of publications of Polish medievalists are published in the main western academic languages.” (from an introduction of Eduard Mühle)
