Discourses of Counsellogy: Toward an Anthropology of Counselling

35,00

“Clearly, the discourses of practitioners, politicians, counselees and researchers most often proceed on different planes of communication, sometimes use different languages and relate to different issues. Only if they are identified, codified, ordered and integrated can a fuller picture of social discourse on counselling emerge. Such enterprise could disperse the stereotypes pervading reflection on counselling and open up a broader discussion on such topics as the need for (and the role of) seeking guidance from others, counsellor identities, manipulation in counselling, the development of institutional counselling and other issues, largely ignored up to this point, that represent counsellogy’s awareness of modernity.” (Alicja Kargulowa)
